Make your ideas transparent to others via the DeepaMehta Community Application. You need an account (see Quickstart).
This Applications goal is to make interests and assignments of our Community Members public.
Any Member can choose to add her information and maintain them on their own. She is not allowed to change information from other members but of course is able to see and associate them.
Note: If you want to stay up to date with the work of other users in a shared workspace please have a look at the Notifications paragraph in the Working Collaboratively chapter in our User Guide.
Any Community Member should insert 2 kinds of information:
1) My Profile / What I have to offer.
This adheres general information about yourself, which aren't DeepaMehta related. Who am I (Including my appearance)? What are my interests / my websites? Which projects am I dedicated to? Who or what is my network? Your contact information.
Please use these Topic Types to type in your information: Person, Institution, Project, Initiative. And these for your contact information: Address, Email Address, Webpage, Phone Number, Fax Number, Mobile Number.
2) The DeepaMehta Community and myself / What I want to achieve?
Here it comes to the point, to establish the relationship between your ambitions and the DeepaMehta Community. What I want DeepaMehta to become and how I want to push it in this direction? Describe explicitly your goals and your comittements to these goals?
We conceived 3 Topictypes just for that purpose: Wish, Aim, Project Concept. Please read further to use them properly:
Wish - Give a wish to the DeepaMehta Community, eg. "nicer location for our meetings", "better moderation", "more users" or "I like to select more than one topic at a time". Wishes can be transmittet, without any commitments to take. On the other hand there is no guarantee, that this wish will be ever available. The wishes that verbalized by most people have the highest priority.
Aim - Pronounce a personal goal within the DeepaMehta project, and your idea, what the concrete steps and your own contribution to achieving the objective look like. For example "I would like a paid job at DeepaMehta and will try to acquire customer projects." or "I'd like to read about DeepaMehta in an c't-article and will, along with others, write one and then contact the editors to recommend it to them." Or "I'd like to come into contact with 'high profile' players and i will take over the organization of the1st DeepaMehta convention."
Project Concept - Express the idea for a (development) project with a public conception and the commitment to write and to draw up a project team, including project managers. Project ideas form concrete projects. Once the project team is ready, the project will be started and controlled by the project manager. Project ideas are e.g. "(Jörg and) I will create a conception of how the Web browser functionality can be integrated into DeepaMehta and will bring a project team together."
How to use the Community Application
1) Login
Go to http://www.deepamehta.de/, and click Login to log yourself in. If you lack the account: click Login anyway, there you will find out how to get an account.
2) Join the Workspace DeepaMehta Community (nonrecurring)
In any Topic Map: Search -> Workspace (right click on the Topic map background). Select the DeepaMehta community workspace from the result-ton: Show Result -> DeepaMehta community (right-click on the ton). Join the workspace: Join (right-click on the workspace). Result 1: Your User-topic and a Membership (orange) are visible. Result 2: In the Search and Create menu (right click on the Topic map background) now appears the new workspace with his 7 Topic types (person, institution, project, initiative, Wish, Aim, Project Concept). 3) Fill in the information you want
Please fill in your personal information and interests in the Description Text-field of your Users Topic. You can also drag and drop a portrait of yourself in this box. For networking with other people (users), institutions, projects and initiatives create the relevant topics (or get them via search from the corporate memory), and create a Assoztiation (gray) to your user-topic. To input your contact information (e-mail address, etc.) use the Assign commands of your users topic.
Connect yourself to the DeepaMehta project, by attaching corresponding Wishes, Aims and Projects Concept Topics, and create a Assoztiation (gray) to your user-topic.
4) See the information others have already put in
Reveal other DeepaMehta community members: Rightclick the workspace DeepaMehta community and choose what's related? -> Users. Result: all workspace members will be displayed (user-Topics). To view the users information, click the appropriate user-topic. To view the connected associations (including contact information, DeepaMehta relevance) choose the appropriate Topic-Type from the What's Related? Menu of user topics.
